A generic term covering all phases of acquisition, operation, and logistic support of an object, beginning with concept definition and continuing through disposal of the object.
A object's life cycle is broken down into:
- Conceptual phase
- Design and development phase
- Production phase
- Deployment, operational, and support phase
- Disposal
